A lot can happen in 13 months..... I got my Dyane in May 2009: ![](http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs028.snc1/4288_91779886407_665941407_2310335_5231326_n.jpg) With the help of the (brilliant, frankly) 2CV community, by the end of June it looked like this: ![](http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs184.snc1/6160_107106501407_665941407_2548717_1072564_n.jpg) Unfortunately by September my job was looking decidedly iffy, so the Dyane got sold on. Then by Christmas the powers-that-be decided they needed me after all, so to celebrate I went out and bought this: ![](http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs192.snc3/19938_267788136407_665941407_3748981_3167626_n.jpg) But before i could start chopping the bejesus out of it, my mate decided he'd sooner have it than the slammed green monster he had just bought, so in about 10 days' time my driveway will have this sat on it instead: ![](http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs020.snc1/4241_199520405360_728755360_6976227_2648473_n.jpg) That last part is actually a C.O.C.K Exclusive Scoop. Aside from a few guys on I2F no-one knew about it, until now......

Well there's been a bit of to-and-froing, but basically a straight swap. Mechanically and body condition-wise they are similar, the red one's on a galvanised chassis but the green one's been lowered properly with camber-corrected suspension arms, etc etc. Swings and roundabouts...... I've a few jobs to do on it (including the new roof I picked up from Derby early this morning) but I'm looking forward to running it for at least the summer. Then it's Ami Time. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

What sort of MPG these things get, Bri? Thinking of binning the Cuore to the track and getting a new daily... Easily 40mpg knocking about. Most 2CV's can give 45+ overall easily, Dyanes are aerodynamically better and slightly higher-geared, I managed 52mpg with careful driving on a run. Even thrashing it I managed 48. They never cease to amaze. Considering the amount of time you spend with your right boot welded to the floor (about 80% of the time) they are amazingly frugal. More importantly they are an absolute HOOT to drive.

SRSLY Bri, how much dinara would one need to get behind the wheel of a fully-functioning and road legal tin-snail with seriously reduced ground clearance. I really feel the need to sample this automotive pleasure/perversion.

Ah... 2cv's... Of all the racing I dragged my Dad to in my teens he still talks about the 2cv meet we watched at the now defunct Ingliston circuit in the early 90's. First lap they arrived at the hairpin together, flopped on their sides round the corner, made it out the other side and spent the next 15 laps doing the same lap after lap - odd car in the tyrewall but the majority thrashing round in one group. Mental. Lets have some vids! Carnage... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqUrZhdWR3wIn car... (naff music tho...) www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fq8_iZY2g4&feature=related ;D

The Slamboo. Most xlnt, BD... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I know, how did I end up with THAT??? It currently looks like this: ![](http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs190.snc3/19731_103472929680782_100000542272950_94704_5789677_n.jpg) But I'm 45, a bit old for graffiti, and fearful it will become a target for the local knuckledraggers to write 'SHAZ TAKES IT UP THE ARSE' or somesuch down the side in magic marker.......so it will be looking something like this P-shop by the time I take it to the streets: ![](http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs419.snc3/25265_325633041407_665941407_3945838_591962_n.jpg) Or it's becoming more appealing by the minute to roller the whole whip in satin black, and go back to my original black/red rims vision. ;D
